Amanda Da Silva is a natural born leader gifted with the aptitude to teach. As founder and President of Take Action Educational Solutions Limited, she is on a passion-driven mission to create energy and excitement around lifelong learning. Amanda understands the diversity of educational needs and knows that passion and purpose are unveiled when our uniqueness is honoured. Journeying through life guided by her values of integrity, community, care and family, Amanda achieves balance as a ‘momprenuer’ striving to inspire those around her to “take action” to reach their goals through the power of education and connection.
As an educator, coach, mentor, wife and mother, Amanda draws from a blend of personal and professional education and experience to provide services for students, parents, schools and teachers. She applies a solution-focused coach approach to support her clients transform their challenges into opportunities for growth. She herself is a living example of her belief that education provides people with the edge to further their potential, with 16 years of meaningful work experience in education after the completion of multiple degrees and training, ranging from Bachelor’s Degrees in Education and Human Kinetics, Master’s in Educational Leadership and Administration from UBC and many certificates in University Counseling courses from the University of California, Urvine, University of Washington, University of Pennsylvania, and she is currently taking a College Counseling Certificate Program with UCLA.
Amanda’s innate leadership qualities and recognition of the connection between healthy communities and positive learning further drew her to various community involvement and Department head positions such as, designing and implementing many successful school events and advising leadership and administrative roles in school policies and practices. In addition to her many roles in the educational context, Amanda was an integral building design committee member who successfully drafted, worked through all of the blueprints, and designed the current Southpointe Academy K-12 Independent School building in Tsawwassen, BC.
Amanda’s commitment to hard work and passion to initiate interaction and motivation among her students, community and family are transparent. Take Action Educational Solutions Limited is an extension of this, and is a further representation of Amanda’s vision for students to discover their gifts, create their own learning paths and become part of a solution-focused culture. Amanda’s unique combination of educational administrative skills, business experience and relatability provide a solid foundation for her to offer unique and integrative services for a wide range of clients and audiences. Nicole Lorage is a recent alumnus of Simon Fraser University’s Communications Major and Sustainable Development Minor programs. Now that she is open to a new, post-undergrad world of opportunity, she has found herself on a journey of self-discovery that is guided by her passions for the art of writing and the wonders of the natural world. In addition to being the Communications Coordinator for Take Action Educational Solutions, Nicole is a Research Assistant for SFU’s Semester in Dialogue outdoor learning program, a BCRPA certified Group Fitness Instructor and a Life Coach in training. Nicole’s ambition to “take action” throughout her life has encouraged ongoing growth and self-awareness, where education has played a key role in activating the resources to transform her challenges into possibilities. Nicole's understanding of the diversity of educational needs is linked to her advocacy of experiential learning, which provides further motivation for her to pursue personal and professional development in Ecological Education. Nicole is passionate about creating opportunities for people to discover their gifts, be guided by their core values and recognize the agency of nature.
